Beauty in the Mundane – Backyard Photos

I think a crucial part of being a good photographer is being able to take subjects usually regarded as mundane, or things that you see each day (such as your backyard) and turn them into beautiful moments in the lens of your camera. This is something I want to continue to work on. I went around my grandparents backyard today and snapped a few shots of things such as their vast succulent and cacti collection, and a beautiful green beetle in their pool. We take the small beauty around us for granted, but looking at things in a different light helps to teach you to appreciate the things we don’t normally overlook on a regular day-to-day basis.
